A visit from far away friends calls for the best china to come out and fresh flowers to be displayed.
I went for an afternoon tea theme with different sandwiches, scones with jam and cream and a trifle instead of cake.
We had enough left over for puds and lunch for the next few days.
I only make trifle for guests.
