COMPUTER GENERATED IMAGE

Special effects used to be a joke.  Essentially, it required an obvious and clumsy looking plastic model held up by a wire across an oil painting of outer space.  Yes, it's true that Star Wars turned the use of plastic models across oil paintings of outer space into a convincing work of art.  But now comes computer generated image cartoon animation.  Essentially, somebody figured out how to use computers to draw pictures so realistic, that it looks like an actual person when standing next to an actual person.  So out goes the clumsy looking plastic models against oil paintings.  In comes computer generated image along with motion capture suits.  Now, anybody who can draw and use the computer with equal ease can do special effects for Hollywood.  Special effects is no longer a joke.  Some people may complain that computer generated image has made Hollywood empty, hallow and soulless.  However, some people may complain that Hollywood always was empty, hollow and soulless to start with.  If you ask me, I have no problems with computer generated image as long as actual human beings are still used in the film making process.
