Burundi's opposition leaders have rejected the new date for presidential polls of 15th July being proposed by the electoral commission.
The opposition has called for the resignation of UN mediator, Said Djinnit, saying he failed to tackle the crisis. They also say their demand for free elections have not been met.
After President Pierre Nkurunziza announced he would run for a third term, Burundi was hit by protests and a failed coup.
Spokesman for Nkurunziza, Philippe Nzobonariba has said that his decision to stand for re-election was non-negotiable and polls will not be delayed again.
Western donors have cut some of their aid to the country saying they do not intend to help finance the elections.
None of the opposition party leaders attended the meeting on Monday where the electoral commission unveiled the new dates according to Reuters news agency.
The 17 opposition parties say they are committed to dialogue but repeated their demand that 51 year old Nkurunziza quits.
